SARASOTA INSTALLS SIEMENS 1.5T ESPREE MRI WITH TIM™ - THE WORLD'S FIRST LARGE BORE MRI

Sarasota, FL, June 3, 2013 – Rose Radiology - Sarasota, has installed the Siemens Large Bore, 1.5 Tesla, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system that combines a larger bore, or opening, for claustrophobic patients with the ability to capture high-field quality diagnostic images.

The new system adds “High-Field” MRI to the services offered by Rose Radiology in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Only at Rose Radiology – Sarasota can you find “High-Field” MRI and Upright MRI in the same facility.

“This is going to increase our efficiency and patient convenience,” says Manuel Rose, MD, FACR, Rose Radiology’s Senior Medical Director. “The patient-friendly design of this magnet will make it easier for large patients and those with claustrophobia to have a MRI examination which produces higher quality images. This will potentially reduce the need to repeat and interrupt exams.”

The Siemens Espree MRI installed at Rose Radiology - Sarasota features a bore opening of nearly 2.3 feet in diameter and almost one foot of free space between a patient’s head and the magnet. The Espree MRI also features the shortest 1.5 Tesla magnet available. At approximately four feet long, the magnet allows more than 60% of exams to be completed with the patient’s head outside the bore, helping to ease claustrophobia.

This new MRI expands the services currently offered at Rose Radiology – Sarasota. Services at our Sarasota office include digital mammography, digital x-ray, DEXA, Ultrasound, “Upright” MRI, CT, and Interventional radiology (including MRI Arthrography and CT Myelography).
